Amber McGhinnis, Senior Audit Manager at Martin Starnes & Associates, CPAs, P.A. (MSA), recently became a graduate of the 43rd class of the Leadership Catawba program offered by the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce. Leadership Catawba is a 6-month program designed to help individuals who have demonstrated leadership potential to become more effective and influential leaders and to get them more involved in the community.
This year’s program kicked off in August 2017 with a full day of teambuilding activities at the U.S. National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC. After the retreat, participants attended one full day and one half day session per month for six months where they were introduced to a diverse group of leaders in Catawba County to discuss key issues currently being faced in our community.
Before graduating from the program, class members were divided into groups and were required to participate in a group service project that would positively impact the County. Amber’s team was tasked with auditing current relocation information available to those that are considering moving to our area and making recommendations on how to improve this information. A luncheon was held for the Leadership Catawba graduation on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Catawba Country Club. Lindsay Keisler, Kim Dahlsten and Stephen Patton presented each graduate with a certificate and encouraged them to continue on the journey of furthering their leadership in our community.
